A new update has been released by the Central Bank Of Nigeria and the Nigerian Communications Commision (NCC) on Tuesday and this has gotten a lot of reactions as many Nigerians are not satisfied with the news from them.
It was announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria and Nigeria Communications Commision that every bank customers will have to start paying N6.98 for each USSD transaction which is performed on their sim cards.
This was in a joint statement released by the Central Bank Of Nigeria and NCC and all bank users really need to take note of this new announcement by the duo.
The was as a result of the Telcos’ announcement to suspend USSD service over N42 billion debt which was owed by the financial service providers but the minister of Communications and digital economy, Isa Pantami intervened as he asks them to halt their strike.
Isa Pantami met with the key stakeholders to resolve the amicable resolution in interest of the general public. Therefore, it was resolved that effective from March, 16, all USSD services for financial transactions which is conducted at DMBs and CBN-lincensed institutions will be charged at N6.98 per transaction.
Therefore, all bank accounts owners in Nigeria should take note that every transactions which they make with USSD will fetch them a transaction fee of N6.98. This is to bring to your notice so you wouldn’t be amazed seeing N6.98 leaving your accounts after every USSD transaction.
This New Announcement by CBN and NCC has caused reactions and surely, people are very dissatisfied by the new announcement.
A lot of people said it’s a way to exploit the people of their own money while others are saying many other things to express their dissatisfaction as it wouldn’t be easy to do loose N6.98 even after knowing that most Nigerians are struggling.
